BioShock 2 is a first-person shooter developed by 2K Marin and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to the critically acclaimed BioShock and continues the story set in the underwater city of Rapture. Players take on the role of Subject Delta, a prototype Big Daddy, who embarks on a mission to find his missing “Little Sister” amid the crumbling dystopian environment.

The gameplay retains the core elements of the original, combining shooting with the use of Plasmids—genetic modifications that grant superhuman abilities such as telekinesis and fire attacks. Players can also harvest or rescue Little Sisters, which affects the story and gameplay. The game includes both single-player campaign and multiplayer modes, the latter introducing competitive gameplay with multiple classes and abilities.

The PlayStation 3 version offers the complete game experience with additional downloadable content (DLC) such as “Minerva’s Den,” a critically praised story expansion. The PS3 version supports trophies and features performance and graphical quality comparable to other consoles, with no exclusive content but full access to all expansions.

BioShock 2 was generally well received, praised for its atmosphere, narrative, and gameplay improvements over its predecessor. According to Metacritic, the PlayStation 3 version holds favorable review scores, reflecting its positive reception among players and critics alike.
