Platform: PlayStation 3

Fallout: New Vegas is an action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. Released in 2010 for PlayStation 3 (as well as Xbox 360 and PC), the game places the player in the Mojave Wasteland, 204 years after a nuclear war, where you control the Courier who survives an attempt on their life and becomes embroiled in a power struggle among different factions vying for control of the region.

Gameplay merges open-world exploration with narrative-driven quests and player choice, featuring branching dialogue, faction alignment, and a variety of builds including stealth, combat, and diplomacy. The game’s mechanics evolve from its predecessor but place a stronger emphasis on modular character development, crafting, and complex quest outcomes. The PlayStation 3 version provides the same fundamental content as other formats, though it is subject to the hardware limitations of the console generation.

Critically, Fallout: New Vegas was well-received for its story depth, world design, and degree of player freedom, though the PlayStation 3 edition in particular is frequently cited for performance issues, crashing, and framerate drops especially as save files grow large and additional content is installed.
