Genre: Graphic Adventure
Developer: Telltale Games
Publisher: Telltale Games
Year: 2015
Platform: PlayStation 3

Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic graphic adventure game developed and published by Telltale Games in collaboration with Mojang, the creators of Minecraft. Unlike the original sandbox game, Story Mode introduces a narrative-driven experience set in a blocky world inspired by Minecraft, featuring original characters and voice acting.

The game follows Jesse, a customizable protagonist voiced by either Patton Oswalt or Catherine Taber, and their friends as they embark on a quest to save the world from destruction by a massive creature known as the Wither Storm. The story unfolds over five main episodes (with three additional DLC episodes released later), and choices made by the player significantly influence dialogue, character relationships, and outcomes.

The PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft: Story Mode delivers the same content and mechanics as other versions, though it runs at a lower resolution and frame rate compared to newer platforms. It requires multiple downloads for episodic content, and a stable internet connection is necessary for accessing uninstalled episodes. The game’s cel-shaded visuals replicate the aesthetic of Minecraft, while voice performances and branching dialogue choices provide the hallmark Telltale narrative structure.

While not a traditional Minecraft game, Story Mode was generally well-received for its humor, accessible gameplay, and appeal to younger audiences, though critics noted its simplified mechanics compared to earlier Telltale titles.
