PlayStation Move Starter Disc is a compilation disc released by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2010 to accompany the launch of the PlayStation Move motion controller system. The disc was typically bundled with Move hardware in starter packs and served as an introduction to the capabilities of the new motion-based control system on the PlayStation 3.
The disc includes a variety of playable demos from early Move-compatible titles. These may vary slightly by region, but common inclusions are Sports Champions, The Shoot, Start the Party!, TV Superstars, EyePet: Move Edition, and Tumble. Each demo is designed to showcase specific uses of the PlayStation Move controller, such as motion-tracking accuracy, pointer-based interaction, and augmented reality functions via the PlayStation Eye camera.
The disc functions as both a demonstration tool and a promotional sampler, giving players a hands-on preview of full retail titles available for the Move system. Some regions also included tutorial videos and setup guides to help new users configure the PlayStation Move hardware properly.
As a non-commercial product distributed with hardware, the PlayStation Move Starter Disc was not sold separately at retail and does not feature a traditional progression or standalone gameplay experience. Its purpose was purely to introduce users to the PlayStation Move ecosystem.
