Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 is a tactical third-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Paris and released for the PlayStation 3 in 2007. It continues the storyline from its predecessor, with players again taking control of Captain Scott Mitchell and leading the elite Ghost team during a fictional conflict set along the U.S.–Mexico border.
The PlayStation 3 version includes the full single-player campaign and various multiplayer modes. The story campaign is set over a single day and features a mix of urban and rural environments, with missions involving securing hostages, defending key locations, and eliminating hostile forces. The gameplay emphasizes tactical squad-based mechanics, requiring players to command their AI teammates, drones, and support vehicles.
A notable feature of the game is the Cross-Com 2.0 system, which allows players to view real-time video feeds from squadmates, drones, and other units, providing greater situational awareness. Players can issue precise orders and monitor battlefield conditions through this interface.
The PS3 version includes additional content not found in the Xbox 360 or PC versions, such as exclusive multiplayer maps and bonus single-player missions. It supports online multiplayer via PlayStation Network with team-based modes and cooperative gameplay, although performance and matchmaking received mixed reception at the time of release.
