The story follows Rodney Copperbottom (voiced by Ewan McGregor), a young inventor in a world inhabited by robots, who travels to Robot City to meet his idol, Bigweld (voiced by Mel Brooks). Upon arrival, he discovers that Bigweld Industries has been taken over by the villainous Phineas T. Ratchet (voiced by Greg Kinnear), who has ceased production of spare parts for older robots. Rodney teams up with a group of misfit robots to restore Bigweld and bring equality back to the robot community. The film features a voice cast including Halle Berry, Robin Williams, and Drew Carey. Robots was well-received for its animation and humor, grossing $262.5 million worldwide.
