Description:
Sonic Invader is an arcade-style fixed shooter released in 1982 for the CreatiVision home gaming console, developed and published by Video Technology Limited (VTech). It is a Space Invaders clone where players control a ship at the bottom of the screen, tasked with shooting descending waves of alien invaders before they reach the ground.

The game supports one to four players, who play in turns, with progressively difficult waves of enemies. Sonic Invader retains the classic gameplay mechanics of the Space Invaders genre with a vertically aligned formation of aliens moving left and right while descending gradually. The player’s ship can move horizontally and fire shots upward at the invaders.

Taking advantage of the CreatiVision’s hardware, the game features colorful graphics with a resolution of 256×192 pixels and smooth sprite animations. The gameplay includes sound effects characteristic of early 1980s arcade shooters, adding to the immersive experience. Sonic Invader was one of the notable titles for the CreatiVision, marking it as a viable competitor in the second generation of home video game consoles.
